Internationally known as a respected dog breeder, Lorna Muir has been breeding Alaskan Malamutes since the mid 1970’s under the kennel name OOPIK. Lorna’s amazing dogs have been used in breeding programs for sled dogs and show dogs.
One of her dogs was the first Alaskan Malamute to receive a first in group in England and one of the first Alaskan Malamute females to receive a first in group in Africa. Lorna has won Best in Show, Best Puppy in Show, Best in National Specialty Show, Best in Specialty, Best Puppy in Specialty, High in Obedience Trial, High in Specialty Obedience Trial, Futurity at the US National as well as many group and First in Class Obedience awards for her own dogs.
She’s also put in over 30 obedience titles on her own dogs, received a Canadian award of merit for conformation as well as obedience from the Alaskan Malamute Club of Canada and Award of Merits for working dogs from the Alaskan Malamute Club of America.
Lorna is also the official Canadian Kennel Club “Canine Good Neighbour” program evaluator for The Pawsh Dog.
